Default Redecking a block..when is it necessary?

When should a block be redecked? i'm gonna be building an LS block, but the block's had its ringlands on the pistons cracked to all hell...would there be any worry of a slightly warped deck? if so, how much does this service cost?

just ask you machine shop to see if it needs to be shaved. mine checks **** like that for free.
