Default LS/B20 VTEC question

Well to my understanding the reason why LS/B20 VTEC motors blow is because of the cylinders cracking, due to high revving which the block wasn't meant to handle.

Has anyone had their block resleeved(iron ductile) and still had problems?

Thanks.

it is un-tuned engines DETONATING that usually cracks sleeves, not high RPM...

(although detonation may be likely to occur at high RPM)

high revving usually cracks rods and bends valves, esp. on a mis-shift...

Ohh, I didn't know that. What would be a cheap way to manage an LS block, resleeved to 84mm bore, JE 12:1 pistons, probably Z10 block girdle...what type of ECU?

Hondata is cool, but I hear it's like 2000 bucks!

So do you guys think it would be safe to just use stock B20 sleeves with some high compression pistons as long as it's tuned?

Well I would think they are because Honda put them on stock GSR/Type R, which have a better rod/stroke ratio than LS/B20.

What is the purpose of a block girdle then?

if the block guard is for reliability why do you say it is TOTALLY UNNECESSARY ??

see those 4 semi circles?

they are where the valves have room to open when the piston is almost at the top of its stoke...

So the valve reliefs are those semi-circles on the pistons, what do people mean when they say they have to cut them or something when going B20/VTEC?

does the B20/LS have the same size valves as a VTEC engine?

find out...
