Low compression
I had my b16 rebuilt, and did the usually hone, resuraced head/block, new rings, bearings etc..the block was assembled by a reputable shop. The engine starts right up but it seems to lack power. I compression tested it and got around 150-160 psi on all the cylinder. I'm not burning any oil, but when i did a wet compression test it shot up to 210 psi. After 500 miles are my piston rings still not seated? I did the usual half throttle pulls and decels when i broke in the engine. Any thoughts/help?
I primed it a like you usually do for a new motor, then started it, let it idle for 20 mins or so, and changed the oil, took it for a drive and went wot on it to 7k and decel'd. But after that i did leave the car sitting for a year, because i was too busy with school work. The car was running really rich when i first started it since it had stage one cams and i was running a base map, but i've since gotten a dyno tune, and it runs good, a:f is perfect.
