I have a j spec d15b in my 95 civic but it seems when the check engine light isnt on it has a complete loss of hp. I was at the track and noticed that my check engine light wasnt on but did the run anyways and i ended up running over a second slower than what i was usually running. I dont think that the v-tech kicked in and whenever i shifted it would just bog but i was just wondering what might be happening here? but for some reason it runs just fine when the check engine light is on.
