Default Looking for a electrical part, dont know the name

Im putting a Walbro 255lph fuel pump into my crx and I want to upgrade the wiring since this car is for race only.. My problem is I need a way to bring the 12awg at the pump outside of the gas tank..

Is there some magical fitting that will allow me to connect the fuel pump to one side and +12volts to the other going through the top of the fuel pump holder that wont ground out on the top of the fuel pump holder?

Kinda hard to explain what im looking for but I guess you would call it a binding post that doesnt ground to the metal that securing it.. Any ideas?

Electrical feed-thru fittings? We've used these things at work, but that's for high-pressure stuff. High $$$ too. Maybe they make something cheap for low-pressure?

Maybe a web search for...
gland fitting
feed-thru or feed-through fitting

Can you cannibalize stuff from a broken fuel pump? Just the part that bolts to the tank & has the wires going thru?

I have no idea what cannibalizing is????

I was just thinking also maybe drilling into the top of the mounting bracket and putting a piece of fuel hose there to protect the wire from the metal around it and then just jb welding the **** out of it to keep it there and stop fuel/fumes from escaping.. Kinda ghetto I know but I dont see a reason why it wouldnt work..

I get really scared when messing with electrical connections inside of gas tanks, When I changed out the fuel pump before for a stock one I insulated both the power and ground wires in the fuel tank with fuel safe hose from my model airplanes just in case.. Call me wierd but I just dont like the idea of a gas tank exploding under my ***..

Find someone with a burned-up fuel pump who's gonna throw it away. Cut it up & use the top part where #6 points. That should bolt to the opening of the tank, & it has places where fuel line & electrical connections go thru.

So when you race, aren't you required to use a fuel cell? The companies that make fuel cells probably make stuff like what you want...

You dont need to have a fuel cell to be a drag car..

I have a spare #6 that I am working on.. I know it has all the places for electrical connectors to go thought, What im saying is that the small 18awg wire is part of #6, I want to make it 12awg..

OK now it makes sense...

I guess I'd probably do what you're trying, work the larger wire thru in place of the 18ga. Try to open up the hole as little as possible, & use something flexible like RTV to seal. There's flavors of RTV that can tolerate gasoline, & try to put the bigger amount of RTV bead around the outside.

JBWeld might get brittle & crack?? At least make a blob of JBWeld & also of whatever else you wanna use, let it cure, put it in a jar of gasoline for a couple days. I don't know how it'll hold up. You'd be surprised how some of that stuff behaves.
