What does a long block include and what does a Short block include? Sorry for the newb question but I got to learn somewhere.

 

Basically a shortblock is the block itself- generally sold with everything from the oil pan to headgasket.

A longblock is the complete engine minus the tranny and extras- generally sold from oil pan to valve cover. Some people sell it with all manifolds, tb, harness etc. Others just sell the engine from oil pan to the valve cover and thats it.
