well when i look online at engines i see a b18c for 2700 or a longblock b18c for 1650.
my question is why is the a $1000 price difference.
sorry i didnt give an example in my first post but im just trying to learn something. any help is apreciated

A Long block engine replacement will typically require swapping out parts from the original engine to the long block. These parts include the intake manifold, the exhaust manifold, Alternator, Power steering pump, if any, and Air conditioner compressor, if any are installed in the vehicle.

just to sum it up for ya, a longblock is the engine block and head, a shortblock is just the engine block with no head...neither one comes with trans, linkage, mounts or anything else that is in a complete swap. we all gotta learn sometime.
