Default Limp mode, need help!

Well i wanted to see if i could keep the secondary butterflies open if i took off the vacuum hose off of the diaphram. Well the car ran like *****. But know i can't get it out of limp mode. if the car is cold and i start it and quickly put the hose on the car will run great for about 45 seconds then start running real weak again. How can i fix this!!! The car is a GSR. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

When you start up the car the vacuum actuates the diaphragm and CLOSES the butterfly (when the car is off the butterflies are actually open).

So having taken off the vacuum line, the butterfly remains open and the engine is getting the same volume of air as it would at 5800+rpm when it is supposed to open.

If you notice underneath your intake manifold there is a little black canister with some vacuum lines and a couple of wires coming out of it. That is what dumps the vacuum and opens the secondaries at 5800 rpm I think it is called the IAB valve or something like that.

As for your limp mode put everything back the way it was and disconnect your battery for 10 minutes, reconnect it and that should reset your computer and if everything is connected properly your car will be happy again.

Hope this helps!

removing the battery terminal is the same as pulling the fuse

Yeah for real...pulling the (-) battery terminal resets everything. People will tell you to pull that 7.5A Hazard Fuse so that you DON'T reset your radio stations, but at the same time this action will reset your ECU. So either method works like a charm.

ya....but the backup fuse will reset the ECU and radio 100%. Also if you make it a hait to use the battery cable (-) then you make get sick of unbolting the the terminal and just let it sit loose.
