lil probs with new intake manifold
ok i just installed a y8 intake manifold on my 98DX and it doesn't want to run right. there is no vacume leakes, it idles great, right at 750. there are no codes, everything is plugged correctly. but it skips or misses if i give it gas from off-throttle below 2000 rpms. there is also a huge midrange lagg between 3000-4500 that wasn't there with the stock manifold, it might just be the different design, but i am still curious about the stuttering below 2000. any suggestions?
the cam timing is stock (stock gear), and the iginition is at 16. i am running the stock ecu. think i will benefit from running a odb1 ecu?

Yeah you might wanna try an OBD1 DX (P06) ecu...... I don't know it's worth going that route though.
grea that brings be to another question, do you really need a cold idle stepup? i mean is it all that necessary? i ask because if i goto the odb1 ecu i will loose that. honda did the combined iacv/cold idle thing in the throttle body for 96+ DXs.
