Lightweight Battery
My car is coming out of storage soon and my battery is dead so i'm gonna replace it. I was wondering what are the disadvantages to this. The car doesn't even have a working radio so there's nothing really needing electrical power on the car. Might put in a headunit but nothing else. What I was wondering if you get a lightweight with right CCA are there any downsides to it?
It's for a 100% Street Car Just not driven in winter.

To we weight ****** of the world, definately yes. People drop $500 and more sometimes for carbon fiber hoods that do nothing except save 10 or 20 pounds. If you can accomplish the same thing for a fraction of the price, then yes.

Here's a link to a very good, light weight battery: http://www.thunderstruck-ev.com/batteries.htm
I've used it in my race car no problem, even leaving it hooked up for a month or two without starting the engine, it started up fine when I needed to drive my car to the track. Plus it's only $60 + shipping.

dry cell so you can mount it anywhere without a vent tube
I've got a 925mjt in my daily driver accord and it's way smaller and lighter than stock. but if it's for a race car you can definately get away with a the 680mjt which is only like 11 lbs.
got mine from http://www.batterymart.com

Heeltoe Automotive had a specail for these batteries. I think it was like $80 shipped and the battery has worked great for me.....very light and small.

i've also got a lawn mower battery on my car. $20 at walmart. if i remember right, they have a book there listing the cranking amp requirements of every vehicle. my delsol was rated at 350 cranking amps and the lawn mower battery i bought is rated for 275 which is most likely sufficent enough unless you live in subzero climates.
