what is a thermoswitch?
A thermoswitch is a switch that opens or closes a set of contacts at a preset temperature. On cars, they are usually placed in the cooling system to send a signal to turn the radiator cooling fan on when the coolant starts to get too hot. My '84 Wagon has three thermoswitches. One for the fan and two for the emissions equipment.
reson i ask is because on my d16a6 it has a thermoswitch on the back of the block.to the left of the oil pressure switch.i'm not sure if the d16z6 has one or not?i don't think it does.maybe it's relocated.i'm gonna be dropping this into a 4th gen and i was wondering what i'm i gonna do with the extra plug if it gets eliniated on the newer motor?
Look at http://www.hybrid.honda.org , they have information there on how to do the swap. You have to move the switch to another location.
a thermoswitch is a switch that usually closes at a determined temperature- some use wax, some use a bi-metallic strip- honda still uses them
thermoswitch is the one that turn on the cooling fan...
