leaking oil from THAT corner
my motor has been running for about 2 months now. its been slightly leaking from day one at that corner where the serial number is on the headgasket. its really annoying creating that eye sore of fresh oil on my block accross the "b18b" badge. is there any remedies for this, ive retorqued the head studs, both surfaces were machined. is there any kind of oil stop leak that can be purchased to stop crap like that?

It is not any of those seals. 100% positive. its coming from the headgasket. its nothing major, just an annoyance.

you should really get that fixed...you say nothing major now but in time, if you run your motor hard, the head and/or block can warp. what kind of head gasket are you using? Use only OEM Honda! i recommend pulling the head off, resurface the head, buy some arp studs, make sure your block deck is flat, and slap everything on to torque spec and sequence. Good Luck!

Where on the headgasket do you think the oil is leaking?
I almost bought a GSR with a leak in the exact same spot and the kid said " Ohh that oil, yeah everyone's gsr leaks there, its no big deal." I thought it was warped head or warped block.
Bump for a solid answer.

It has to be the cam cap on that side. Trust me. Just get one of those aftermaket cam cap seals and put it in. You will thank me later when you notice the oil is gone. The stock cam caps suck.

Thats what i think it is also, i thought my gasket was leaking at first when i looked at my oil leak, but followed the oil and saw that the bottom portin of the cam seal was wet. Replaced it with an aftermarket one and no more leak (its an easy fix). This is common for hondas especially w/ mileage on it. Pictures would be really helpful to determine what it is for sure though.

Sometimes you can get you oil leakage from your head. You could have already torque the head bolts down to much. Or you might be lucky and it be a Vavle cover gasket. But check that gasket first and go from there.

they are AEBS head studs and havnt been torqued over 70 pounds and this is the second time ive used them in a new setup. the headgasket was new, the surfaces were resurfaced, its been doing it since day one, and it is NOT A SINGLE SEAL ABOVE THE HEAD, LIKE THE CAM CAPS OR DIZZY OR VTEC FOR THE LAST TIME!!!!!!! its getting smaller. I think its about to seal up.

Mine leaks from there too... in fact... so do two of my friend's B-Series (one did before and after a rebuild). In fact, I've probably seen three other GSR's leak from there other than mine... and I haven't even been around Honda's for too long.
Most definately the headgasket, unfortunately. When I tried to figure out where mine was leaking, I Honda-bonded the cam cap and valve seal, and VTEC solenoid all over again. Cleaned all of the oil off. The oil came right back... from the head gasket.
Oh well.

yup you cant just slap a head gasket on and torque it down. you have to spray a sealer on it. and if you dont got copper sealer atleast try and find some black spraypaint or somethin. but most definetely get the copper **** if you can.
put it this way, i was replacing the head on my car. and my friend was replacing the head gasket on his.
i copper sprayed my head gasket, he didnt.
now his car leaks oil from that same spot, and mine is nice and clean.
what he learned was "use copper gasket sealer"

haha i did copper coat it, i think i know why its leaking, i had to drill the dowel holes out bigger and i guess it was a little too rough between the layers after that preventing a full seal. OH well i have to change it soon anyways, i think i popped it slightly during tuning at 30 psi. lol
so u just copper coated it,and it stop leakin?cuz im finishin up my B16 swap in my CRX and i have that exact saem leak, but it also looks like it is coming from the VTEC solinoid, and i really dont want to have that leak, it really does look bad :-\ ...
Dont for the last time me. Maybe that should be the first thing you should check.THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH GETTING YOUR HANDS DIRTY OR BEING WRONG EVERY NOW AND THEN.
Haha, funny I should see this thread.
I was out and about last night, and one of the local yokels has a GSR in his EG. His headgasket leaks at the same spot.
*knocks on wood* Mine's still good on my LSVTEC.
