Default leaking coolant... can't find source

My buddy's '94 GSR jsut started leaking coolant... and its definitely not one of the hoses. I can't find the exact source, but it looks like its coming out of the top of the radiator itself.... not the cap... has anyone actually had a radiator itself break and start leaking? Any thoughts?

yeah the plastic end tanks on radiators can crack and leak, especially under thermal expansion. if you feel its necessary to locate the spot..., they make an ultraviolet dye that you mix with the coolant...you can detect the leak with a blacklight.

Might try replacing the radiator cap first. If it goes bad, coolant can escape from it instead of going to the over flow

i used to have this prob of coolant slowly steaming out of the top of my aluminum radiator, just replace the cap (u might wanna get one with higher PSI -- wouldn't hurt), also get some radiator sealant that u put in ur coolant (looks like dirt, but is more liquidated), put that in there, run it for about a month, then completely flush it out and put clean coolant in there. should fix 'er
