Default leakdown test feedback

did a leakdown test...setup is a b16 head on gsr block with itr pistons and bolt-ons. cylinder 1 and 2 were fine with 7% leak...but number 4 was 17% and number 3 was 25%. it might be the headgasket...how bad is this hurting me?

where was the leakage? Those #'s are pretty bad for 3&4If the headgasket is blown get it fixed obviously, and if not I guess you could run the motor for a while till it dies you'll just have to add oil all the time if it's the rings that are bad.

if it a head gasket take the radadior cap off and if you see bubles then it is the head gasket and if its the rings pull the dip sitck and you can feel and hear air and if its the valves check if its coming from the exhuast or intake

If the leak is the head gasket, it will get worse. Left long enough, it could get coolant into the oil which makes for a poor lubricant. If compression is leaking between cylinders, it can damage the head or block sealing surfaces. I'm assuming you could hear/feel the air from the adjacent cylinder leaking out the sparkplug hole which could be a good indication, unless air was leaking from the valves into the intake or exhaust and back into that cylinder if the valves were open.

your headgasket is busted between those 2 cylinders, change the gasket and make sure the block isnt warped

dude if you heve even the slightest mechanichal ability you can do it yourself
just go to an auto parts store and find a repair manual that fits your block and change your head gasket by following the step by step instructions just make shure you have all of the tools that are required

by doing this you will save yourself lots and lots of money and you will gain more
confidence towards your mechanichal ability

if there is no warpage the head gasket change it shouldn't take any more than four hours

It may not bubble through the coolant if the gasket is blown between the 2 cylinders. There is no coolant between 1 cylinder to the next, only cylinder walls. If the leaking is adjacent, then the gasket is most likely blown. If its leaking from other cylinders, it may be from valves. Was there any air leaking from the intake?

If it is the vavles, yes, most likely a valve job will fix it unless they are bent.

I understand that, but you need to tell me where the air is leaking from.If the air is comming out of the other cyls spark plug hole the gasket is bad,if it's leaking out of the int valves it could could back up into the other ports thru the manifold if the throttle blade is closed,so open the throttle and check it.
