lack of compression?
So i dropped compression on the #3 cylinder... did a compression test.. 190, 190, 85, 190.. no smoke except for out of the breather valve on top of the valve cover. The smoke smelled like gas.
I took the head to the shop and got it tested, it was fine (let them port and polish it while it was there
).
The cylinder walls are fine, the piston looks fine, so that narrows it down to a blown headgasket, or the rings.
Due to the fact that i reused my stock honda headstuds 3 times (i didnt know that you cant reuse them until now).. i figured it would be the headgasket, but it looks fine also. So that leaves the rings. but it wasnt smoking and everything looks fine.
Should i take the piston out and check it? or do you think it's the headgasket?? btw it's a b16a turbo and i lost compression on a 5th gear pull... (i know, i know
) but any ideas are greatly appreciated
