I am about to purchase KYB AGX's for my 93 civic coupe and i was wondering i was looking at the kyb website and they have these strut mounts and boots for sale.........I was wondering if u need to purchase them in order to install the shocks or u dont really need it and also do u need to any type of cutting to make the shock fit?

 

You don't need any of those. Everything you need comes in the box. Remember to use everything that came with the box.

Actually, I would suggest you DO NOT use the bump stop plate supplied with the AGX's. I had mine set on a harder setting one night right after I got them, hit a bump and drove the bump stop plate all the way down the shaft and almost drove the shaft up THROUGH the hood. They're WAY too thin and flimsy.

Reuse the stock Honda ones that are on your shocks. They're twice as thick. In 3 years, haven't had a problem since.

 

Anyone have pics with a comparison? Cause I used KYB's stuff and took out the oem plate. I really don't want to uninstall everything.

 

Can anyone else comment on this?

 

i have agx's on my 92 hatch and havent had one problem.
