knocking?

Default knocking?

ok its not for a honda but my dailey driver (1999 eclipse) is making a knocking sound and it gets fast as the revvs do. what could this be? also one of my friends mentioned gas i am using. so i am using 91 octain by the way to let everyone know. please help. i need this car to get to school. thank you

i guess more of a tapping. like i can bearly hear it unless its at idle or if im just starting. it may be nuthing but i have gone through 2 motors in my CRX. i just need this car to not break down

Well if it is a tapping that is louder when the engine is cold the it could be as simple as a valve adjustment. Wouldn't hurt to do one and see if you still hear the noise. If it doesn't help, then you KNOW it isn't the valves!

I honestly don't know, I watched a buddy of mine do it to is R swapped hatch and I was like well if I can adjust those valves imagine what I could do with a d series! ahah

is it erratic tapping or steady tapping, also where is it comming from? Also try pushing your clutch in at idle and listen if the sound goes away

what if it does go away when i push the clutch in. i havnt had my car warmed up tho so idle is alittle high right now. but when i push the clutch in it does it. its very slow but as the rpms get higher the tapping gets faster.

ok its coming from the valve cover. maybe timing belt alittle loose? it sounds like everythign is normal except just alot louder. any ideas?

opps forgot. it was a spark plug. LOL! ok delete the thread haha. thanx for the input. but my spark plug just fell out on my way from school. so i screwed ti in and everythign is fine. thanx
