Just did a headgasket and ended up ripping the knock sensor harness off of the wire. (It's the green harness right by the oil filter) Then i got a CEL 23
What i gather from searching or personal experience:
It's shielded wire
The harness is not sold separately
Tried to reattach the wire and use nonshielded wire to extend and reattach it. NOPE
Cant find shielded wire without ordering
I dont really care to get a new ECU w/o the KS
looking for a realtively cheap fix
Simply grounding it doesnt always work to fool the ECU
Using a resistor might not work either. Mixed opinions
What else can i try?
Can i simply replace the whole wire? HOw?
TIA

The wire is only sheilded for about 6 inches then it turns into regular wire.
You can rip the sheilding off, it really serves no purpose.
All the hybrid swaps that I do when I add the knock sensor wire to the wiring loom I never actually reuse that 6 inch part that is sheilded, I cut and slide the shield off, it just gets in the way.
I would just cut and sodier a new wire/plug on there and be done with it
