hi to all i will keep it short but please help me it would really be appreciated my knock sensor has teh wire cut of from the harness, meaning that the two wires from the KS plug are not connected. ( a green one with a black line and a red one with a white line) where do they connect to?? do they connect to the D3 on the ecu in out right?? but wouldnt their be one wire on the D3 and the KS has two wires right (green and red) my car is at the body shop so i cant look at the harness but i do have my motor with me right now... any help please???

Use 18awg shieilded wire. I've only rewired obd1 knock sensors, which are one wire with a ground.
Seeing that you have a two wire indicates you might have an obd2 harness. Regardless ground the shielding wire (solid) to the chassis or engine. I think that the extra wire you have is for a ground. I could be wrong though. Make sure it is shielded cable though.

Typically, the KS only has one wire that actually connects to the sensor. It's usually red/blue. You may have a plug from a different sensor; just make sure you hook the wire that goes to the pin on the sensor to the wire that feeds the ECU.

hey guys... thank you for your help but i have another question... well when i bought this car it had the motor in and a vtec controler and when i was doing my wire tuck i found that they werent connected.... this Knock sensor that has teh green wire and red wire were connected together then they ran into one wire to the vtec controler as a "Y" shape... what do you mean the pin on the sensor?? can you explain to me?? im a really stress so many wires here doing this wire tucking lol but thanks for your time guys hopefully you can still be able to help

When i wired in my knock sensor i just used a two Pin connector, One red. One black.
I ran the red one to the pin on the ECU and grounded the black wire. People even say you dont need a ground cause the sensor grounds itself on the block.
I do know you dont need a sheilded wire. I never used one. And never threw a check engine light.
Here is a pin out for 96-98 knock sensor.
