Default knock sensor problem

my knock sensor is wired up, but when i drive for about 5 mins the cel comes on. if i turn off the car and turn it on again it goes away until i drive another 5 mins. it says the code is the knock sensor, but even when the cel is on, the vtec still kicks in. any idea?

make sure its hooked up correctly. get a voltmeter and check for continuity from the connector plug to the ecu pin D3 for obd1. If its wired correctly then try another knock sensor.
