Default knock sensor grounded = no cel?

how do i ground the knock sensor out? will this give me no cel?

The block is the ground. That is why there is only one wire coming out of it.

no, you'll still get a cel.
you could if your sensor is good, take it out of the block and ground it somewhere else ; leave it plugged in.

No, the wire that comes out of the sensor goes to the ECU. The sensor is probably bad if you are getting a code. You probably need to check the continuity of the wire to make sure the signal is getting back to the ECU. Again, the sensor is grounded through the block, meaning there is no extra grounding necessary.

As mmuller pointed out, you can pull the sensor and ground it somewhere else. I would try to resolve the problem before you use a solution like that.

its a B18B block it has no ks. im getting my car inspected and im running obd2 so i was wondering if i could get away with grounding it to something else so i wouldnt get a CEL.

yeah you could do what i sayd above or you can tap where the bolt for the alternator bracket goes and put the ks there

kinda OT but on OBD-1, is it D3 that it goes to? same with OBD-II??
