Knock sensor help??????
If i was to ground the knock sensor that is on the engine harness to battery, would that work? Thats what i did and somehow after a while when the car warms up my cel light comes on and reads knock sensor and primary o2, but i'm trying to fix the knock first cuz they said it was really easy just tap into engine harness knock sensor wire which is only 1 wire and ground it to your battery. can anybody help me out?

yes hook it to your ecu..also if you can used shielded wire because any interference will throw a cel.....and stay away from heat that will throw a cel too...
i dont remember the pin number but its all over ht...

exactly...think about it its not a ground..its a sensor..and it only has one wire coming from it...and that wire needs to go directly to the ecu..

Re: Knock sensor help?????? (degooser)
yeah but doesn't that sensor just ground to the block as if i was to put in a knock sensore and plug it in?? cause i thought that if you put in a knock sensor all you do is just tap or screw in the knock sensor to the altanator bracket and it pretty much just grounds the plug to the block... i'm might be a little confused here... shed some light on me here.....

who the hell said that?
the knock sensor goes into your ecu its wire wire and the ecu needs that wire to check for knock...if you wanna ground the block why not just use one of the 100's of un used tapped and threade dholes from the factory to ground the block to the chassis or where ever you want
on an obd1 motor and ecu the knock sensor wire goes to pin D-3..D-3 is the medium sized plug that goes into your ecu and its the second wire from the left on the bottom row of wires looking at the plug withy the button on top and the wires going into the plug

your right but you still need a wire from the knock sensor to the ecu...
how is the motor going to read knock if its not connected to the ecu?

Re: Knock sensor help?????? (degooser)
isn't the engine harness already connected to the ecu? and the knock sensor on the engine harness is where i tapped a wire into and ran that to the battery.... i thought that would work cause my cel light didn't come on, but after driving it for like 15-20 it comes on. so now everytime when i start up the car there is no cel but after 15-20 mins. cel light comes on. could it be something else? could it be that i have a 2 1/2 straight pipe that drops down at the end of my car seats and has something to do with back pressure????
