Default keeping a cylinder head for future use

to be more specific, i'm purchasing a y8 head. i'm still looking around for a good price on a vtec solenoid. i would like to know how i can preserve that head for a future swap i'll be doing. to get it away from rust, carbon, or any other type of dirty deposits, or malfuntion. (ie. covering it in plastic???) thanx techies.

Chalk absorbs moisture. Leave some pieces of chalk in it.

i would coat it in light machine oil to keep the aluminum from oxidizing, and place it in a plastic back with some moisture absorbing packets. when you are ready for it just clean the head off

I just wrap mine in a towel to protect it from the floor, then I pile them all up in the corner until I want to port another one.
