Default ka24de need help carburated???

i know this is honda-tech but some of you guys own 240's and alot of you just plain know alot about motors and parts for them so here goes. My friend just bought a datsun 510 with a ka24 motor in it and the guy he bought it from said the motor was from an 89 240. The problem is is that the motor is carburated. my friends wants it to be fuel injected so i thought i would ask you guys about his options. I have heard of efi kits but dont know who makes them or sells them. any info or options you can give me to help my good friend would be appreaciated.

Go to a junkyard and get the efi parts. Nissan trucks also have the ka24de engine too. I'm sure the 95 does. You could find a 240sx forum and ask them.

You could go eithe Stand alone or OEM...

Youll prolly need a heep of OEM parts anyways, but a stand alone wil allow you to tune it...
OEM is can be very expensive so a good standalone may be the better choice..
Haltech?,
Motec?,
AEM?
Autronic?
Theres a bunch out there...
Cost wise it may be better to just get a bigger carb or something and keep it simple.Your talking about completely changing the way the engine operates.($$)

I've never heard of a KA24DE that is carburated. And i've definately never heard of an S13 240sx being carbbed either. KA24DE's came out in 1991 anyways, you say this is an '89, they never made DOHC KA24's before '91. The carburated code must be the KA24 (no D or E) and like said above, you can retrofit, or upgrade to EFI components using. This must be from a Non-USDM truck. I think it's rare, though i'm not sure, and I definately wouldn't want to go through all that trouble with EFI and electronics, I would stick with the carbs. If your friend doesn't know how carbs work, then this is the perfect time to learn.

the amount of money and effort you are gonna spend trying to make a KA fuel injected form carb'd it would be a much wiser decision to just drop a SR20 in.

The Ka24de's came out of every '91-'98 240sx.Im sure you could find one in a junkyard and pull the manifold/fuel system from one.

thanks for the answers so far. her is not looking to spend alot of money on the swap but he and i arent really familiar with carburators. Does anybody know what it would cost for the efi stuff at a pick and pull. also if any body is certain about what is needed, let me know exactly what is needed as far was the transfer. Ecu..sensors> etc...

Holy ****.....I never heard of that before! If it's a KA24DE then all you need to do is find a 1991-1994 S13 240sx and rape it of all it's parts, anything that is hooked up on that, like the intake manifold, fuel rail, fuel pump I think, ecu, wiring harness, probably exhaust manifold/downpipe if the 02 sensor(s) are welded up on your carbed one.
I'm shocked that you guys have a DOHC carbed KA24! You know what, I would sign up on http://www.nissanforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=74 and/or http://www.nissaninfiniticlub.com/zeromain?id=7 and they should be able to help you out with providing reliable information.
