Default just threw code 9? help

hey, i own a b16 powered eg hatch...the check engine light has never come on ever since i've owned it...

until yesterday...

the night before, i installed a vtec solenoid gasket and the distributor o-ring...i'm certain i did both correctly, as it stopped my oil leaks that i had....however, when i cranked the car, after about 3 seconds of idle, i threw a CEL...now, i didn't bother diagnosing it, because i figured it was due to the fact that i didn't disconnect the battery when i removed the distributor...it's at factory timing, i hit it with a timing light...it shut off after about 6 seconds of shining....

so this morning, i drove to school...i did a highway pull from a 3rd gear downshift to 5th to see if the smell of oil hitting the block was neutralized...as soon as i let off to merge off of the highway, i threw a CEL...
so when i got out, i jumped the diagnostic connector and it threw code 9, which seems to be a sensor inside the distributor...can someone elaborate on what it is, how it could possibly have happened (being my fault or not), and how to fix it?

my car seems to be running fine, it revs as high as it did before, and i'm not misfiring or stuttering...although, i did notice that the car seemed to jerk a little bit back and forth when i let off the gas in 5th on the highway...

the car never threw a code before, in all the time i've owned it...

it's just hard to believe that the distributor decided to die right after i pulled it from the motor to put in the o-ring...

i've heard it's the cyp or cylinder position sensor, but it can happen either from faulty wiring or a bad sensor...

only thing is, the car never did it before. i didn't even touch the wiring to the dizzy, i just unbolted it and took it off, making sure that it went back in the exact same timing position. could it be because i didn't disconnect the battery?

i don't want to buy a 400 dollar OEM part if it doesn't fix the problem.

Bump for an answer, I have the same problem, fixed my FITV and now have the CEL 9, no problems, runs awesome, code comes on after car is warmed up and running for 9-10 minutes, doesn't effect car at all, has been on for 9 months or so.

B16A, JDM OBD0 PR3 ECU, etc
