my setup is in my sig and i had a baseline run of 153whp and the final run after all the "extensive tuning" was 165whp. all they did was lean out the motor in the high end and change the vtec engagement to 6300...they also only tuned it to 8300 rpm's when the redline is 8800 and w/ the juns that's where all the power is made. i'm just througholy dissapointed and was wondering if anyone knew of any good tuners in az. like i said the vafc hasn't even been touched other than the vtec engagement and the intake cam is at 0 and the exhaust is -1. Looking for opinions on what to do.....THANX

i had it done at SRD cause they filled me full of **** sayin they tune those motors all the time and always see big gains and were also familiar w/ the vafc and yet they only played w/ the vtec engagement and then leaned it out in the high end. waste of money but i think i'm gonna take it to import powerhouse next.....anyone have any opinions about them????
Holy **** dont just go somewhere else get your money back!!!

JUN 3's?!?!?!?!?! They'll make power up to 9,000 and most people have actual redline around 9500. Edit: I mean your tuned ECU: It has a low redline, and a high(for it's redline) vtec engagement.

ya the motor checked out fine compression wise and it seems to be running right....hopefully after a higher redline and getting it tuned all the way up to that higher redline correctly i can make the power i want but for now it's pretty bummin

dude i could have told you not to have it tuned ANYWHERE in arizona
nobody here could ******* tune an engine to save themselves.
the only people that can do it themselves, just rent the dyno.

Hmmm, so, you're running what.. 12.5-13:1? Your're in ITR range at the flywheel, which is not bad -- but I agree you don't seem to be taking advantage of that cam. Did you make certain you had high octane for the dyno? And, max power falls at about 12.5:1 AFR -- so, what did they lean it out to?
Good luck with the journey!

what?????
i made 152whp with my nearly stock b16a. there is something severely wrong with your setup...whether its the timing, air/fuel ratio or the motor itself...given your setup there are so many things that could be wrong...
and tuning a motor isn't really THAT difficult. while the ecu determines the timing, the guy running the dyno can basically look at the air/fuel ratio and make the proper adjustments. of course its not simple, but tuning a motor isn't rocket science either.

I stoped going to SRD when they wouldn't install my damn exhaust, retards didn't think I would want to have it installed(welding was involved) the day it finally came in, which was like 5 days after they promissed. So I took my **** and left.

Man your in Tucson with Apex, no wonder your so sour towards Tuner shops. Import Powerhouse does it right, and doesnt do anything else but perfect work.

Who tuned it from SRD? I have had my car tuned perfect with Chris from there and was scheduled for a dyno tuning session by SRD last Tuesday but they cancelled cuz' the dyno or something was wrong but i checked out there website earlier today and notice Chris was not on the SRD team no more so i wonder if you got your car tuned by someone else other than Chris.

ya chris is the guy that tuned my car and i don't know what i can tell you about him but.......ya i made a trip into import powerhouse on saturday and talked to dave for quite awhile and i'm gonna get a different ecu w/ a 9200 redline and have them tune it w/ their wideband o2.....he felt the same way i did and as he couldn't guanantee any promising results...he did promise to tune the vafc to the max and make sure the motor is running at the best of its capability when it leaves....guess i just made a 120 dollar mistake......i'll let you guys know how it goes at import power house....it shoudn't be more than two weeks from now.

ok check it out. I am assuming you have stock injectors.
This will be close to what your going to make decent power at..
With Fuel Regulator VACCUUM hose ON, your fuel pressure should be like 55, thats about 17 PSI over stock.
Your timing should be around stock, 16 degrees is ok. Anywhere from 14-18 its going to make decent power.
Cam gears: +2 intake ticks, and +2 exhaust Ticks is going to make good power for sure.
Remove your exhaust system and try open header with these settings. Set your VTEC point at about 5700 RPM, with all fuel settings at 0 for a try.
If that does not work, then you have a mechanical problem. I wold do a compression test, and a leak down test to assure your compression is at least like 240 on every cylinder.
If its 240, your going to make around 190+ WHP I would say...with the settings I gave you.
Good luck, and so smoke some V8's after it runs right.

what would you recommend w/out running the open header?.....and does anyone have a very similar setup to this and could they tell me what they're vafc settings are and what not....just curious to see what they might be doing right and me doing wrong
