just did the head gasket AND???
well like it said just did a head gasket and started it and fired right up. Now it has ran for about 20mins and then we went to take off and it just stalled so he tried to start it back up and nothing but cranking. I checked for spark and there is none but we are smelling fuel, in fact alot of fuel. I told him to crank it again and it wouldnt it just stopped so ??? hydro locked. I pulled the plugs and yep the 3rd cyclinder is just filled up to the valve cover and flowing out of the top of it so i unplugged that injector to see if it is stuck and well we are stuck now and dont know where to start... Its a 97 hatch with a gsr swap..
what ground wire? like i said the car was running good til he tried to take off then it shut off and now we have no spark still and 2 injectors are dumping fuel..
I was refering to the ground wire at the thermostat housing.but now their is other issues. Is the check engine light on ? Is their any stored codes ?

damn thats alotta fuel. make sure to unplug the distibuter working around all that fuel. One stray spark from a dizzy that you think isnt working and some plug wires laying in a pool of gas and that baby is a BAR-B-Q. Start by finding out what is causing all the fuel, like he said^
well I can tell you with a fair amount of confidence that its not a mechanical problem. What have you checked and what did you check it with? Have you even checked NOID yet? SOmething is causing it to dump hHUGE amounts of fuel into the cylinder, Its either going to be a short or a tuning issue, or serioussly bad bad stuck open injector. I dont know if it is even possible for an injector to go bad like that. its easy to checj though, just swap it with another and if the problem doesnt follow it, then its not bad. We cant hold your hand through this, there is no magic answer. Do you have wiring diagrams, Im sure someone can get them for you if you dont
well u might be right on the tuning part they put a gizmo on it when it was running before to adjust alittle more fuel and sooner vtec should i have them disconect it and see what it does? also what would shut the spark off like that after it stalls and wont start back up?
Map and TPS connectors swapped? I know its a dumb question...
Do you have access to "noid lights"?
This will tell you if your injectors are being "told" to stay open and will help tell you if its a mechanical or electrical problem since your injectors seem to stay open...

i had that problem..
ended up being the computer..
and i have 450cc injectors.. imagine that amount of fuel..
once you fix it.. change your oil... (gas will leak into the oil pan)

ok well we got the new injectors in and we are goin to check some wires and see if its something else, and i just got the noid light... so what do u guys think would make it lose spark? and is there anyway of knowing for sure if the map and tps is on the wrong plug..
easist way is a scan tool, but if you get a wiring digram the colors are different....you can also mix up the IACV and the IAT. those wires are different color also.
If the injectorer noid is good and not a steady light then move on to the spark issue. I just have a hard time believing you filled up only 1 cyclinder without there being a short to ground somewhere

i went ahead and checked it just now with the noid and all the injectors are stayin on when the key is on. i need a wiring diagram so i can see where this one plug goes its a 2 wire plug that is hanging right under the battery but its got enough wire to go to the altenator so i have no idea where that goes..
if you have noid lights hooked up, they will flash rapidly...the faster the rpms, the faster they flash. If you have a scan tool they are measured in Millisecs. way to fast to count, but thats not the issue. If they are not flashing at all, but are constant then there is a short to ground. unhook the ecu, and ohm the yellow/black wires on the injectors. There should be no continuity. if there is then start looking for the pinched wires. if there isnt then try another ecu and check noid again.
ya i think its the ecu do they just go out like that or what? could the safc did that? anyway im goin to just try a new ecu if that fails then its to the wires and searching for a problem but liek i said it ran perfect before then he tried to take off and boom its dumping fuel and there is no spark...
