just changed diff in tranny now head gasket is bad??
I just changed the diff in my tranny and now when I pulled the spark plugs the number three cylinder had coolant in it. Is it possibel that one of the bell housing bolts is not in correctly causing coolant to get into the cylinder? Also, I can't seem to get the bell housing bolt that is behind the starter all the way in, it sticks out about 3 inches and gets really hard to tighten. Am I putting it in the correct hole because it hand tightens most of the way. What could be the problems???
i would say you have a blown head gasket. all the pressure in the coolant system is pushing water into your #3 cylinder after you shut it down. might want to get the deck and head resurfaced also. that bolt has nothing to do with it.

I usually have a smart *** remark for these types of statements. But I don't even know how to comment on this one!

eden i told you they had nothing to do with each other. Ill pull your head tommorrow. The tranny bolts do not even come close to any water jackets.
Bump for THE GUMBANATOR VR4 . Edin with all the beating you have done to the car I think its time to replace the head gasket.

Should I get the head resurfaced even though the car didn't over heat? Also, how do i resurface the deck?

It may look like a perfectly fine gasket but there is more than likely a hair line fracture that you can't see and its allowing coolant into your cyl. Coolant doesn't just go into your cyl for no reason. New head gasket and you are all set!

just get the head checked for straightness. you don't want to put this all together and have it do this again. head gaskets just don't blow, unless your running a **** ton of boost, the machining is off, or very poor installation. nick
