JUN or Skunk2
hey... i've been doing a lot of research lately about building my h22 and i'm come to a crossroads.
what would be the better choice in cams and other valvetrain parts? (valvesprings, retainers, valves, etc etc)
skunk2 or JUN?
i'm leaning towards JUN because of their reputation for real power. but they are a little pricey compared to Skunk2.
anyone have experience, or knowledge about either?
is the extra cost for JUN parts worth the power output?
thanks in advance
(edited for spelling - doh!)

Well, the lob specs are almost identical on the two cams.
Check out http://www.importreview.com, they have dynos on both cams.
They both make pretty close to the same amout of power from what I understand. But even if the Juns make an extra 1-2 hp, in my opinion, the Juns are not worthe the extra money. But everyone is different. It depends one how much money you have, and how easily you are able to part with it.
But whatever you choose, DON'T go with Skunk2 or Jun valve springs. There springs bind WAY too close to the cams max lift. Go with Portflow.

thanks for the info.
if i replace the valve guides and valve seals... wont it improve the skunk2 or jun valve springs ability to lift.
i think skunk2 can go up to .540
i dunno. i'm a newb to this

0.540 inches? That would be 13.72mm! I don't think they can. But I'm not much better than a newbie myself.
And I don't really know if replacing the valve guides and seals would do anything. I doubt it.
I just know that is what I'm heard from severaly very knowledgeable people ("sgt" knows his stuff, and here is a thread on what he has to say about it https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=417571)
I recently has a motor built for me, and that is what I'm running (Skunk2 Stage 2 & Portflow springs).
Ask around some more to be sure. You don't want something stupid like the wrong springs to **** up you newly built motor (or upgraded, whichever you are doing)
Good Luck!

****, it just hit me! You are building a H22.
I'm not sure what the specs are on Skunk2 and Jun for H22. The springs for an H22 MIGHT be better suited with more lift. I'm not really sure.
But still... ask around some more. Better to be safe than sorry!

you should get the toda cam he can go under your valve cover and push the valves down. if you want more lift inject some catnip in there and he will have more valve pushing power. just my .02

Checkout hondasaver they have some good duration on lift that I was looking at not to long ago
Also between skunk an JUN, Skunk makes a good turbo cam but for all motor get JUN
