Default Jun B18c5 block for 400 dollars??

Well my friend with a Jun crate motor had blown it up by messing with the adjustable cam gears and destroyed the pistons and the head, also cracked the block. Well he said he will sell me the clock with the girdle and crankshaft and rods for 400 dollars do you think I should get it. I looked at the block and it can be fixed. If I get it I plan on boring it out to 85mm and sleeving it. I will proably sell the rods.

I'm not sure but I don't think sleeving the block will be cheap. You might be walking into a money pit.

If the internals are real JUN parts, not Honda. Let me know... I'm interested.

Holy ****. He blew that thing? I'm about 99% sure I'm the one who sold him that engine. Sucks to hear. What's he going with now. Not a cheap engine to blow up.

Sleeves at a place like RS Machines (Carson CA) runs in the $8xx range for sleeves, install, hone -- plus whatever it takes to ship home.

he already sold his head. The pictons are completly destroyed all 4. He is still keeping the cams. I know for sure he is keeping his intake manifold. The engine dynoed at 235 hp to the ground and 185 foot pounds of torque . Thoughthe did some stupid stuff like take the manfold off and put on a JG Edlebrok manifod. he lof 25 hp at the dyno. To this day I still don't know why he was messing and forgot to tighten the cam gears up.
