Default JE spiral locks Intall

im installing my rods on to my pistons, ive got the JE 81.5mm pistons with the pins and a bunch of the snap ring things that hold the pins in place. does 4 of them go on each piston? 2 on each end. or just 1? what kind of tool do you use to install those ******. there is no snap ring holes or nothing. Yikes.

edit, i bought these used, im thinking i dont have the spiral lock type pistons, it just came with these snap ring kinda things.

Just one on each side. those are a BITCH heres what you have to do open then up about 1 inch then put one end in the groove where the pin slides in hold it there with your thumb then with a small flat head go around the clip pushing it into the groove.Once you get the hang of it there not that bad.Good luck!

open them up line one inch in diamter?, you saw that i edited that i dont have the spiral lock type, i have the snap ring type. just making sure so your reply is valid, they pretty much just snap in like a normal snap ring.

Sounds like someone special ordered them with wire locks instead of spirolocks. The piston should have a radiused groove in the piston instead of a squared slot that the spirolocks use. There should only be room for one clip per side.Typically the pin will have a larger chamfer than normal (about the thickness of the clip).

on one of the pin installs, one side the snap ring went in perfect but the other side was a real tight fit keeping the pin from moving in its bore or free floating or whatever you wanna call it, but the rod of course still had full free movement. but i looked and the ring was not fully seated so i tapped the bitch in with a screw driver and small hammer and now its actually moving a little but not completly full free movement in its bore. is this a big deal, i figure no? because the rod moves on it, and thats not messed with.
