Default jdm p30 ecu's

hey i have a 00 si and recently converted it too obd1 using a p30 ecu....now my car throws a check engine light after driving for like 2-3 minutes, idles bounces between 500-1500 rpm, and when vtec hits, instead of the car pulling, it feels like you let off the gas, but the rpms are still climbing....

any of you guys out there have this same problem with your jdm p30 ecu's...
any input would be appreciated....thanks....

If your car is throwing a Check Code You need to find out what is teh code...Then this will help u to figure out whats wrong..

well what i was wondering too was if i have a bad sensor, or something that will cause a cel, shouldnt my ob2 ecu detect it too....why is only my obd1 ecu throwing a cel....i was starting to think that it was the ecu because its throwing a cel in my bro's 94 gsr too....

when I had my jdm p30, it used to throw a code too. Never really knew what it was...even after chip, it still had the check engine light. It had the idle problem too. So in the end, I sold it.

p30 can be chipped. As for the check engine light not sure. Dont think you should have converted your car to obd1. There are some differences between Jdm and Usdm motors i.e. vtec engagement, redline... If you are going to run the p30 you need to get it chipped. My recommedation is to go back to the stock ecu.

well i thought that going to obd1 would disable the second 02 sensor b/c i am running a test pipe and sometimes get the cel....then converting to obd1 even made things worse....car runs like shiet....i'm thinking about just getting it chipped and disabling the knock sensor to see if it would help...
