Default JDM ITR header + front lower tie bar

Just a couple minutes ago I installed my carbing front lower tie bar and noticed that I'm having a slight clearance issue involving the JDM ITR header support bracket that extends from the bottom heat shield bracket to the flange.. It fit SNUG, just enough to get the LCA bolts back into the mounting holes without using force to push up against the header. So when I started and drove the car, the header seems to be vibrating against the tie bar when putting more throttle.

This is making me concerned about whether or not it will put too much stress on the block where the header bolts up, due to engine kick back during acceleration? I've posted a pic, but it doesn't really show the bracket that the tie bar is snug up against..

If anyone has any input, on whether or not this might be an issue dealing with the amount of stress on the block, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

I would say to remove the bar and return back to the company. This was a design flaw. They left no clearance for motor movement under load. If you keep the bar on one of 2 things will happen. You will dent the header or constant vibration can even put a hole in the piping (believe me this can happen).

I'm not concerned about denting the header, because it's hitting the BRACKET on the header, not the header piping itself. I'm questioning the integrity of the block, not the header. Will the block be able to handle the tension from the engine kick-back movement during hard acceleration?

The mounting point to the block may crack. Why dont you take off the header and cut off the bracket. Then you won't have to worry about this being a problem.

I run the OEM JDM ITR header on my ITR equipped CRX. It looks like you are not using the factory heatshield. I had to cut some of the lower part of the heatshield to clear my CUSCO lower tie bar. The header still comes close to the CUSCO bar but not enough to rattle.

Im running this ITR motor in my CRX with HaSport mounts, so Im sure it doesnt move as much as yours does with stock mounts.

Depending on what that bar is made of, chances are the "wearing" from rubbing will be noticed on the bar, not your header.
