JDM engine
i may be buyin a jdm gsr for 1900$, is this a good price from 30-40k miles on it, its jsut the engine no tranny axels etc. just the engine, this is my daily driver is a jdm engine worth getttin are there any problems with jdm engines??
To me, that's too high. For that price, i would get a us b18c1 from a junkyard. My friend sold a compelte '95 jdm b18c1 with tranny, ecu, & axles for exactly $2800, even though his monkey *** bought it for $2000, and didn't want to sell it to me, so i had to settle for a jdm b16a. If you do buy it, try to find a way to do a compression test on it. I did on my engine, and i'm glad it runs powerful out of the box with no oil burning, no leaky cylinders, and no loss of power. Do a test, just to know if u didn't get a jacked up motor. You know JDM motors, the orignial owners probably rev the hell out of it before 30k miles. It's like, you dont' even know what the hell the the engine has gone through and how much abuse it has suffered. Buying JDM motors is like taking a risk. Ask most people what would they do if they were forced to take out their motors, you'll get the same response. I would take on skylines & silvias in japan for fun if i had to take out my motor even though i dont' stand a chance.
