JDM B16a sputtering/bogging
I recently purchased a swapped 91 Civic Sedan that has a JDM B16a in it. The seller told me it was "popping" up to around 3k and that it started when he replaced the distributor. He also said he advanced the timing a degree or two, but didnt use a light. I talked to a couple friends and they recommended that I try moving the distributor forward a little bit, and if that didnt work to get it timed. But when I looked at it, it already had set marks in it. So I moved it, started it, still did it. Moved it back to where it was, now it sounds like a Subaru WRX or something. I thought about the plug wires being switched, but the plugs won't fit cause they are length specific. I wasnt able to get it timed today, due to conflicting schedules. I was wondering if someone knew anything I could try.

What it sounded like when I got it. No video of how it sounds now. I can get one up, its very noticeable.

Try changing ECU's or getting yours tuned or chipped. In my 94 del sol with b16a when I ran a stock p28 it did that ****. Swapped to a p30 and it solved that issue. I dont know what ones for obd0 would be tho.
