Default ive got some play with my lsd, is this normal?

when i had my axles and axle seals out the other day i noticed my differential seemed like it had a lot of movement. if i put my finger in where the axles go in i could move it up and down somewhere between 1/8 and 1/4 inch. with the axle seals back in, it moved but much less. is this normal? btw its a newer style obx lsd that was retorqued before installation

Did you use the tapered roller bearing or enclosed bearing?

not sure, the diff was in the trans when i bought it. im likened to say tapered roller because with the axle seals out i can see the ***** in the bearing, im assuming making it not enclosed
