Default ITR, LS/VTEC

I was wondering if the JDM ITR pistons and rods will work in a B18A1 block, or do I have to use the LS rods ???

yuo would have to use the crank out of the type r motor. not the best idea though. sell the type r **** and get a hot set of aftermarket rods and pistons. little more money but probabbly the easier route. finding a type r crank would be a bitch if you dont have one. and the ls crank makes for a little more displacement than the type r because of the longer stroke. so like i said. sell the type r stuff and get some nice aftermaket ls rods. the pistons arent a bad choice though. depends on what kinda motor you are building. ideal for a daily driver or even a well built turbo motor. its a good bit of compression. but if you are going all motor and haave some cams i would opt for some aftermarket peices like 11.5:1 and make sure you order them for an ls

i don't think type R rods would go wid the LS crank... I think one of my friends tried it and his motor blew up... LS RODS for a fact

So I would have to use my LS rods with my Type R pistons. I would also be able to use my LS crank then correct ? I am just building a little all motor set up for my winter car, so it will be a daily driver. I dont want to spend all kinds of crazy money for a winter car

You need to do ALOT Of searching before you begine this setup. Different combos of rods/cranks will yeild different piston to deck height and could cause catastrophic engine failure. Such as LS crank with Type R rods.....

use the matching rods for your crank, and it doesnt matter what piston you use... all b16/b18 pistons will work.

Like the guys said, keep your LS crank, use the LS Rods with some ARP Rod Bolts (the Rod Bolts are the weak link) and your choice of pistons according to the Compression Ratio you are trying to achieve.

Using the Type R pistons will give you a nice LS/VTEC daily driver.

I didn't get what head you were using though ?? B16A, B18C1 or B18C5 ???

It would be nice and safe to use upgraded valve trains like in the Type R head (not absolutely necessary for your setup).

You should be quite fine with what you have and upgrading the Rod Bolts.

Definitely a dependable daily driver.
