Default ITB's, whose is the best?

Since there's no all motor forum, I chose this bad boy.

I know of Toda and TWM. Anyone else make them for B series applications?

I see the TWM listed at $2350 at http://www.sohfast.com, on special for just under $2K. I also see the Toda one on AKH's website retailing at $2650, but I assume a Toda dealer would be able to do a little better as well. Maybe even cheaper gray market possibilities on that.

Blitz made a few, but I don't know if anyone can get those from Japan over here and at what cost. I don't even think I'd want a Blitz one if they aren't going to support the product very well.

Any thoughts or recommendations?!

Ive heared of some people in japan used a custom manifold with the individual throttle bodies off of a 5 valve toyota 4ag motor. I know that you can get those throttle bodies even over here for maybe 300 bucks so if someone can come up with a sheetmetal intake to fit that on it would be a low budget ITB setup..

I thought Blitz and Toda were 60mm horns. I know Toda's are pretty popular but those damn things are so expensive that hardly anyone has them. So it's hard to get unbiased opinion.

there's a company called OER that sells OEM itb's for manufacturer's such as the Toyota Levin, 5valve engine with ITB's. They also make stand alone kits for B-series engines, mainly the Type-R engine. Here's pic of them:

....supposedly you can daily drive on these OER ITB's with a stock ecu.
But don't ask me how to get a set; I took a pic of these barely used ITB's from one of my Japanese import part resources a long time ago. The kit is long gone by now. Haven't seen another set for sale since. This used kit sold for $1800

I like those socks on the end of those TB's. I was thinking the same kind of thing today when I remembered peeps with turbo's put a little mesh screen over them. I thought about doing the same to the ITB's for a little bit of safety on the street.

I (Individual) T (Throttle) B (Bodies)

Like having an individual throttle body for eash cylinder instead of one for all four. The horn style helps in the velocity of the intake as well I believe. Greater throttle response. Of course it will allow more air in as well.

yeah I like the Toda unit, I also have the TWMs, the old ones stick and you have ot adapt and universal spring to pull the thr cable back, apparently the new ones are ok, I know ppl who blew their motors up because the damn thr got stuck. The Toda is top notch and thats why I decided to use with my cheetah, Toda also puts 12mm metric fittings ont heir fuel railt o accomodate the honda bolt thread.

Here's a pic inside my CHEETAH race car.

The TODA ITB's are a very nice Set up.. They use the same piece's that the AE111 Levin has for there ITB's...not sure about the size on them though Toda Japan has them as 50mm on there Site....but they look about 45mm what SGT said....
On a side note OER in Japan makes a sort of Air Box that mounts all of the sensors that that would normaly go on the intake mainfold... like air temp brake booster line ect ect ect. . . Seems to be a usefull item if you want to run the ITBS on the street. with the factory ECU and sensors

the Toda units (sold here in the US anyway) are 48mm ... they have the adapter for the brake booster hose, ports on all 4 runers for vacuum sharing and the air temp sensor can be mounted ont he firewall in front of the ITBs. Incredible throttle response and very nice billet horns.

well, you can daily drive with them, I know guys doing it here in NJ, both with incredible fast cars ... it just sucks gas like you would not believe. I personally dont daily drive with mine since I have a full drag car.
