I would imagine this application would make the noise factor quite high, eh?

how hard are these ITBs to tune, i heard they're a bitch?
how do they do in traffic on a daily driven application?
thanks.

well, you can daily drive with them, I know guys doing it here in NJ, both with incredible fast cars ... it just sucks gas like you would not believe. I personally dont daily drive with mine since I have a full drag car.

Speaking of your Full Drag Race Car, When is that do out? I'm sure you've been mad busy trying to get it ready to start breaking records, so busy that you've had to turn away potential customers......

I like those socks on the end of those TB's. I was thinking the same kind of thing today when I remembered peeps with turbo's put a little mesh screen over them. I thought about doing the same to the ITB's for a little bit of safety on the street.
Sort of OT, but here's some info that us guys who drive old British cars have picked up the hard way.

Don't rely on the mesh screens to do anything but keep rocks and small birds out of the engine. Most of the stuff that will do damage is tiny enough to go through them with no problams. If you are running ITBs or carbs with ram pipes on a daily driver, you still need good filtration. For example, check out http://www.pipercross.com/ for either large filters and mounting plates for all the ram pipes, or individual socks for each one. Cheaper than an engine rebuild, by a long shot.

hey Nick, I apologize, and I do have a list prepped for you ... and I'm not gonna even attempt to tell you how busy I am, hell I havent even been working on the car, been busy trying to set up a closing date for my condo sale and for purchase of my new house ... and planning a bachelor party, while also getting the car ready from Duie's bodyshop, and get it to DRT for roll cage ... and trying to make the IDRC Englishtown event July 6th.

I'll shoot you an email ...

We should have a couple of the new SF taper bored systems that are used in the British Touring Car Championship by Honda UK in a week or so. These systems can speced from 40mm to 52mm so prices will vary. If interested I will post after they hve been dyoned.

I suspect he's talking about these, only set up on a manifold designed for a B series

HardHead you are correct, just ran the tapered SF's on a GT road racer and set up a set for a GSR. We are a dealer for these and DTA Mgt. systems. This is the nicest system I have seen in quality and adjustability ( 40mm to 53mm throttle bores ). Prices for B series motors range from $1750-$2050 depending on options.

It's what I have been looking/dreaming about putting on mine (when I've done everything else which will take a very long time), the fact that they are in the UK has also swayed me in that direction. One of the things that puts me off a bit is the fact that they are not designed to run with a MAP sensor which means yet another ECU change (unless there is someway to make ITBs work with MAP, which on another thread some guy had done with a thing called a "vaccum log"?)

A vacume log is just tapping the individual manifold runners and hooking them together, if you get serious about the system call Simon at Jenvey and he will point you in the right direction.

Does any one know if Toda makes ITB's for B18B? last time I checked it was just for GSR and Type R

Thanks, that was sort of how the other guy explained it. At the moment I've still got a long way to go before ITBs get to the top of my list but I will definately be getting advice off of Jenvey before doing anything.

all you need is an intake manifold for carbs/ITB's for a B18A/B head and you can run ITB's.

is there any differences in the bolt patterns between a B18B1 and B18A1 head?

I just put a B18A manifold onto a B18B last night, no problems.

has anyone seen flow charts for each of the itb setups in question? I figure that could be a deciding factor. Plus, I would like to see the test results myself, even though I would never buy them.
