Default ITB & NOS Question.

I am going to sell my domestic soon inorder to get an import and need help with some idea's. With a Gixxer ITB manifold setup, would it still be possible to mount Nitrous on the motor? Where would you put the jets? In the Manifold(whats left of it after the ITB setup???) Has anyone done this, and would this idea work? I wanna build a strong motor, thats got torque and power off the line to help me before the NOS hits, and then the nitrous to finish the race.

You could tap into each body just fine. If I were doing the install I'd do it from underneath right after the velocity stacks. I don't know of anyone that has ever done a direct port install on ITBs, but I'm sure you could figure it out. I think there's easier ways for you to get the power you want, but I'm not going to go into that. So to answer your question yes it would work and why not give it a try?

the vw guys run itb's, or the carbed version of itb's, because of the flat-4 engine layout... unless it's a turbo with a single throttle body... so you see nos hooked into each intake runner on those motors.

chad over at http://www.ronlummusracing.com can set you up with whatever you need to put nos on a itb'd engine.

Would this be hard to accomplish, or would there be enough room left on the chopped manifold to tap in? Also with the ITB's, would it effect anything NOS related in a negative way?

it can be done but problem is physically drilling/tapping hole on each port will cause aluminum body to crack because of big diameter ...

cracking would be the result of over-torqueing, or installing it where the manifold is too thin to begin with.

has anyone tried running those nos nozzles that fit under the injector?? it's a plug-in solution, but i'd wonder if the injector spray pattern could be a factor.

Get in touch with Dynamic Autosports in Cali. They did a feature in Turbo many years ago on an Integra with ITB's and the bottle.
