Default Interior Light Problem

I just got a 97 Civic EX coupe and the interior light won't come on when the door is open. I can turn it on and off using the switch but when it is in the middel position where the light will come on when the door is open it won't. Do I need to rewire it or what? Thanks

I'm too lazy to buy a new bulb .. and dig out the volt meter to check the socket

Yea, the bulb works fine, it is just when it is in that position that it won't cut on. Kinda odd, anyone else know what the problem is.

Its the door switch. Unscrew the switch, it's probably rusty. Clean off all rust with wire brush or sandpaper, same on body metal also, then reinstall and tighten.

Maybe I should try this, my interior light has never cut on when the door opens, but does cut on when I manually switch it.
