Default Interesting thought - headgaskets for B20

I was thinking of a headgasket for my next build up, 84.5mm sleeves.

A stock b20 has a stock bore of 84mm. You should be able to buy 84.5mm pistons from Honda. So wouldn't Honda have a 'stock' 84.5mm headgasket or should the stock B20 headgasket be bored enough to accept the 20 over pistons.

A stock B-20 has a bore of 84.7mm so I guess you could bore it to 84.5mm

I've heard that GE will modify a head gasket to fit

Thats my point, why modify it unless you go over 84.5mm?

I run the stock 1.5L head gasket (74mm bore) in my race motors that are bored to 75mm all the time with no prolem whatsoever...

Exactly, the stock gasket will work for your application. End of discussion.

Cometic Gasket in Ohio will custom make head gaskets for any bore size including vtec motors with larger bores. Also you would want the bore of the head gasket to match the bore of the block as well as the diameter of the combustion chamber. In other words if you have a b20 with a b16 head you would want a head gasket from a b20 & to open up the diameter of the combustion chamber to 84mm. Why go through this trouble, simple if you have any sort of sharp edge in the combustion chamber it will create a hot spot & increase the chance of detonation. Opening up the combustion chamber will all so increase the flow of the head by un-shrouding the valves.
