Default Integra Type R Pistons in a B16A1

Hey guys
I was wondering if you can fit stock bore ITR pistons into stock bore B16A1 with little or no modification. I heard when using CTR pistons in a B16A1 that the small end of the B16a1 rods would have to be shaved about 1-2mm for the pistons to fit snugly on the rod.

Also, I got new LS rods for free. My friend told me they are much stronger than my b16A1 rods but I don't think they would fit in my engine without stroking it. Am I right???

you CANNOT use the LS rods in your engine period

and you can use the R pistons but like you were told you may have to get the rod shaved a bit, but that is no big deal

but why would you want to use the R pistons anyways
you will be losing compression by installing them

the pr3 pistons and PCT pistons both have higher compression numbers than a p73-A0(usdm itr) or a p73-00(jdm itr)

i would just leave your engine alone unless you are going to install some PCT's(b16b pistons)

just sell your ITR pistons and get a set of B16B pistons

Thanks for the Info DirtyD. One question though...will the B16B (CTR pistons) raise my compression too high. I have heard installing the CTR pistons into a b16A1 can lead to compression ratios of high 11 and low 12. I wouldn't mind a sky high compression ratio but I don't want to detonate my engine on shitty fuel. The highest octane I can obtain by me is 94. Any ideas???
Thanks
Steve

by installing PCT's you will raise your compression from 10.2:1 up to 10.8:1
to me it isn't worth it unless you mill the head a bit or something

i have seen and helped build engines that have 12.5:1 compression and have run just fine on 93 octane pump gas. it has nothing to do with compression, it is all in tuning.

i am in the process of building an all motor LS that will have around 12:1 compression maybe a little less and it too will be ran on pump gas
