ok I need help on this ASAP. I have a 98 civic cx motor. I put a 97 civic ex INTAKE MANIFOLD on it with a 97 civic ex gasket. Do I need a cx gasket or is it the same as the ex gasket. The first time we started the car we had the VACUME line mixed up with the ANTI freeze line so when we started the car it shot ANTIFREEZE into the gasket that might have made the gasket bad, so tomorrow im going to buy teh same INTAKEMANIFOLD gasket and replace it and see if that was the problem. We tightend up the bolts to the intake manifold pretty good some im sure that the bolts were tight enough. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME.

well i got it fixed finally. i went to a HONDA tech and he told me I had a 99 ex intakemanifold. it has a valve in the middel of the intake manifold right where it connects to the head and that was causing all the problem. So i went out and got a 98 ex intakemanifold and that fit fine the intake manifold came off a AUTOMATIC but i guess that doesnt really matter cause I have had no check engine lights YET. Oh for future reference for people who do this swap dont tighten those bolts down to tight, I broke a stud off in my head cause i thought it wasnt tight enough. According to the HAYNES MANUAL you need to tighten them in a PATERN starting with the MIDDLE bottom bolt (the piece of **** pain in the *** bold) then work your wayaround. Also it sais no more then 17lbs of torque. If anybody is doing this swap and need some help I will be glad to help, thanks for all the help everyone.
