Default intake manifold for b18c

I have a chance to pick up a b18c that I plan to put into a 4G civic. The problem is that it doesn't have the intake manifold.

What "legal" manifolds will work? Is the GSR manifold the only option.

The big thing is that it HAS to be legal due to my living in Calif and having to get it smoged.

for now it is, however very soon Skunk2's will be CARB certified. It's essentially a modified tried and true Type R manifold with slightly shorter runners and a bigger plenum

I didn't know you needed a CARB number for a manifold if it uses all the stock smog equipment already.

I dont think they will be able to tell a skunk 2 from a stock GSR. I looks like the stock ITR one.

The reason that I'm so conserned with being "legal" is due to the fact that I'm going to go to the Referee to have the swap registered. If it wasn't for that, the Skunk sounds like a reasonable option.

As for it requiring a CARB number, think about the fact that a CARB number is required for the air filter and pipe. That really drives me crazy! How is it that manufacturers like AEM can make up a pipe better than me.

The only problem with using the Skunk2 right away is that it looks radically different than the stock manifold. Now if the engine was something other than a GSR (B16A, LS, etc.), using a Skunk2 may not be a problem. It looks very much like a factory Honda single runner type manifold. But the GSR uses a dual runner intake manifold.

It is not that manufacturers like AEM can necessarily build a better pipe than you can. Or even one that is cleaner (emissions wise). Rather, they have spent the time and money having their product tested to certify that it does not increase emissions.

Cnote;

I may have a line on a manifold (it showed up after I started this post) but I'll keep your e-mail address if it falls through. I've got to ask how it is that you have 6 of them sitting around!?!?
