Default intake cam and spark timing tuning question

I have CTR cams in my GSR. The CTR intake cam opens at 18BTDC, I dynoed
back in Jan at 152/118 on off-peak timing. When we went to 18BTDC, I jumped across the entire band and peaked at 158.5/121.4. I recently got an 00-01 ITR exhaust cam, skunk2 sprockets and opened my valvecover so I can tune and
learn. I found that my car makes good overally power when I advance the intake to 4.5 and exhaust to 2.5. I am still on GSR stock manifolds, intake and exhaust systems. If I am opening my intake valves 4.5 deg early, should I not set my spark timing to 22.5 deg BTDC>? I did this running 93 octane and it was a big jump in power, it feels like 5whp/3tq across the band and about 10/6 at peak. I have yet to dyno my findings. I know my car is making about 160-170whp now and about 115-125tq to the wheels. What if any long term damage could occur from these settings? I am also running an STP octane boost added to a full tank of gas. It helps a good amount, enough to feel.

Any thoughts>?

Default Re: intake cam and spark timing tuning question (MikeSarr_GSR)

My '95 GSR feels the best at (on skunk gears) +2 intake -3 exhaust. This would read as(-1%) intake and -1.5 exhaust on the gear itself since each mark is 2 degree's. I have tried some other settings like +5 intake +2 exhaust but it seemed to lose some top end. All settings were using 18 degree's of timing.
