Default Installing VAFC (yet another post)

Before you guys reply with "Do a search" comment, I already did that. Tons of threads and didnt find the info I was looking for. Pretty much everyone that asks about installing a VAFC, they are told to take it to a dyno to tune it.

Well all I want to do is install the VAFC and have it running. Im not looking to do any tunning yet whatsoever. But eventually a dyno would be called for tunning. In the mean time, I would like to have the VAFC operating to monitor the signals and learn the controls/features of it. VTEC X-over I would like to keep where it currently is along with the fuel map. So all I need to know is what are the settings to enter to have it simply running. Again, yes I will take it on the dyno for tunning. But right now I would like to have the VAFC working. I paid for it, I own it and I hooked it up therefore I should know some of how this thing operates.

Sensors = 06 IN 06 OUT
throttle something or other = arrow up

VTEC Lo->Hi = whatever your stock cross point is

Everything else leave alone.

If the unit was purchased used, then initialize the VAFC before changing anything or starting the car.

Thanks for the info. The unit was a demo display and im not sure if it was ever installed. Some of the Male/Female adapters are still a little plastic bag. But initializing the unit prior to starting the car would reset it right? I remember looking over the controls and they seem to be at 0.

Just an FYI for anyone else who is looking for some installation info with pictures. Here you go... http://www.vtecnik-si.com/vafc_install.htm But this doesnt tell you what settings to enter, just how to install the unit.

You should be alright. Just go through the menus and see what's changed. If a lot of the stuff has been changed, then initialize it. If it's just a few things changed around, just re-adjust them to your application.
