Installing Time-Sets into my block - Use Locktite or JB Weld
I'm installing Time-Serts to into my block this weekend to repair my Drive Side Engine Mount. The bolts that thread into my block stripped out.
I'm using Time-Serts to repair them. Should I use Locktite or JB Weld to make sure the Time-Serts stay in the block.
I can get Locktite from work for free. But I don't mind spending the couple bucks of JB Weld if it is better?
What do you suggest?

Time-serts are kinda like HeliCoils - but I never used 'em. I'm thinking LocTite would be better than JBWeld, but what does the TimeSert instructions say about it?
I think HeliCoil says not to do that. They want the metal coil to seize into place.

If a "TIme-set" is the same as a heli-coli then it should work. I would recommend JB Weld. That **** is amazing, but be sure to clean out the hole with a little solvent and blow it out with compressed air to make sure it is as clean as possible.

Time-Serts are great. Clean the threads in the block with acetone or another fast flash solvent. Put a little red or blue locktite on on the outside of the time serts and have at it.

Well, I wasn't JB Welding the Bolts in the block. I was JB Welding the external threads of the time sert into the block. For those of you who don't know what Time-Serts are, here is their website. Most people say they are better than helicoils.

Anyways, I decided to go with JB Weld, I don't want those Inserts to budge. And I'll tell ya, those suckers look like they belong there. It turned out pretty good. It took me and my buddy less than 6 hours to fix it yesterday. (most of the time was getting the driver side of the engine jacked so that we could get a good angle at the holes, and then dropping the engine back into place.) The JB Weld says to let it cure over night, so I didn't put that mount back in yet. I'm going out to bolt in up in a few minutes.
I also, found out whey these bolts & bolt holes broke. Had this engine built by Import Builders. And all three of thes holes were repaired at one time. Don't know for sure if it was by Import Builders or not. But for their prices, if they were repaired incorrectly before, I would hope they would fix it.
The one bolt that was sheared off:
Well, once I got that bolt backed out with a bolt extractor, I found out that bolt was not the correct size. The Helm's shows that those bolts are suppose to be 10mm x 1.25mm bolts. Well, that bolt was a bit smaller, more like an 8mm bolt. There was some kind of insert put in there to repair the threads once. But it looks like instead of boring it out bigger and putting the proper size insert in there for a 10mm bolt, they just rethreaded that hole or something, and put an insert in there that would fit that hole. Thanks Import Builders.
The other two bolt holes used helicoils. To ImportBuilder's benifit, I'm not sure if they used the incorrect smaller bolts or not on those two because the bolts were stripped out and had fallen out. But when I drilled and tapped it for the insert, there was plenty of material left to get a good tap. If the holes were bored our and taped for a helicoil that would fit a 10mm bolt, I doubt that there would be enough material left for a good drill and tapping for a second insert to fit a 10mm bolt.

timeserts are great, their nationwide distribution center happens to be about 3 minutes from my house. I called the 1800 number to order some and they asked for my address to ship them to and the lady started laughing and asked why i don't just come and pick them up. So we did. they work great, we used them for two motors with stripped head bolts. i'd use some locktite, the non-breakable stuff.
