Default Installing a CAI

My pipe is one piece and metal and the prong that I put the bolt through to hold it to the chassy is also metal. Won't the pipe be bent or broken if I bolt it on? Because the engine moves but the chassy doesn't. Can someone help me with this?

There should be a little rubber piece already on the bolt that bolts the intake to the car, atleast AEM's do. Thats what allows it to have a little play. You should be ok though either way, the rubbery piece/tube that connects the pipe to the throttle body will allow it to move a little bit.

If you have an AEM CAI, then it should be a two piece assembly. The pieces that hold the intake tube to the chassis are just rubber grommets with washers and nunts embedded in them at the ends. The rubber absorbs the flex from the engine. In this case, I think it's probably okay to trust the manufacturer. I don't think they would supply you with a piece that would break the first time you use it.

All AEM intakes are not 2 piece. I know that mine wasn't.

aem cai come in 1 piece then you have to make two cuts into it not one becaus if you just make oine cut and put the bypass valve on it it will be too long. imo dont use the bypass valve. use that rubber piece to give it play and you're set
