Default Inspection of CV boot...

Well, I recently ripped my driver's side CV boot, with the complementary grase all over my wheel and brakes, and now I've become worried about passenger side axle. I'm still driving on the ripped driver's side, as the axle itself doesn't have any problems (no clicking). I will be purchasing a new driver's side soon, and installing it myself.

The point is...I was inspecting some other things on the passenger side and I felt the outer CV boot for tears, and I noticed a strange uniform crease all around the boot. It is between the outer fold and the middle (assuming that there are three). Is this a tear or simply part of the boot?

This is G2 specific (92 Integra). If I need to elaborate, I will, but it is hard to explain. I am suspiscious because it is a uniform crease all the way around.

Edit: I did not feel any grease on the passenger's side and there is no grease around the wheel or hub.

Thanks for your help.

Default Re: Inspection of CV boot... (GSpeedR)

u might as well replace both. u dont want to wait for the other side to break. Plus cv boots are cheap. I think 10-20 bucks or around the area. Be careful when removing lower ball joint and tie rod end cause they break easily when trying to remove them. use a ball joint/tie rod clamp for this. Right tools and u should be ok.
